the previous Gimmick! rip has been removed in favor of this one. this also marks the first GO-GO-GST release recorded in real time from original hardware rather than using an emulation of the sound chip. as such, this upload is mono. the benefits are intense, though, as the way the actual Famicom mixes things down is warm, fuzzy, and at times completely devastating (see the track “Sophia (Take 2)” for more information on that)
i’d like to go back and do this with a few other of my favorite soundtracks, including Ristar and Contra Hard Corps.
